BORDER SOLUTION TASK FORCE
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
FUNCTION: To serve as a group of concerned citizens promoting solutions
to border problems through public education and information.
GOAL: To stop illegal immigration and other criminal activities
by gaining control of our borders.
OBJECTIVES:
1 Increase as necessary the size of the Border Patrol and provide
adequate equipment to allow them to gain complete control of our borders.
2 Utilize the National Guard and other military services as necessary
to provide support for the Border Patrol and Customs Service.
3 Increase the resources of the Immigration and Naturalization Service
to effectively enforce the employer sanctions provision of the federal
law and increase enforcement of federal, state and local laws to prevent
employment of illegal aliens.
4 Eliminate all taxpayer-provided benefits to illegal aliens, thus
drawing them to the United States.
5 Hold public officials at all levels accountable for all aspects
of border control and enforcement of our immigration and drug laws.
6 Force the federal government to reimburse the states for all costs
associated with illegal aliens and those who received amnesty under the
1986 law.
7 Educate and inform the public about the impact of illegal immigration
and drug trafficking.
8 Encourage comprehensive reform of our entire immigration law/ policy.
9 Foster cooperation between the United States and Mexico by requiring
that any assistance by the U.S. be contingent on Mexican cooperation on
illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
PROGRAMS:
1 Public awareness—provide a speakers bureau to keep concerned citizens
aware of all border problems and solutions. Write articles and letters
to local newspapers. Maintain a fax/phone network, monthly newsletter and
maintain an Internet website to reach people around the world.
2 Data collection and retrieval—maintain information files on specific
border issues and establish a computer program for easy access to all material.
3 Law enforcement—interface with all border agencies and federal,
state and local authorities to provide support as needed.
4 Research project—evaluate the effectiveness of present policies
concerning the operation of border programs.
