There is a very nice email list, called the German-American list. It's a very low volume list, but I've found it to be quite useful. [NOTE: This list is on rootsweb now, list Owner for German-American Mlfuller@aol.com]

IMMI-GRAND is an e-mail list for researching recent (late 1800's-) immigrants to the U.S. from anywhere. It has moved from MAISER and can be subscribed by sending the message "subscribe" to: IMMI-GRAND-L-request@rootsweb.com (for individual mail) or IMMI-GRAND-D-request@rootsweb.com (for digest mode.)

Mailing List: EMIGRATION-SHIPS.
